Activity Description:

The PPGCC, in its efforts to achieve its internationalization, has a project approved in the first Call for Proposals of Brazil-European Union ICT Coordinates of CNPq and CE in its 7th Framework Program (FP7), through the FIBRE project, coordinated by Professor Antônio Jorge Gomes Abelém, who represented the first direct Internet collaboration of the Future between Brazilian and European partners, although both sides already have previous understandings and collaborations with international initiatives in other parts of the world.

Activity Description:

The Program collaborates in several projects led by Professor Love Ekenberg, director of the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences (DSV) at the University of Stockholm, Sweden, who has extensive experience in community projects developed in Uruguay and Mozambique. Among these projects, we highlight a project coordinated by Professor Aldebaro Klautau, whose objective is the development of software to monitor the health of the population in rural communities in the Amazon.

Activity Description:

Professor Antônio Jorge Abelém is responsible for coordinating a project in the National Program for Academic Cooperation (PROCAD), which, in partnership with the Computer Science Graduate Program of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), has among its objectives: to advance in the state of the art with regard to the subject of IT Management through an interdisciplinary approach that integrates competences distributed in the two Graduate Programs involved in the areas of Computer Networks, Distributed Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering and Formal Specification Methods; conduct practical studies for real problems of public Information Technology companies including the Information and Communication Technology Center (CTIC / UFPA), the management infrastructure of MetroBel and NavegaPará; and to promote the definitive insertion of the PPGCC of the UFPA in the national scenario with the consolidation of the Graduate Programs when starting to offer the Doctorate in Computer Science.
